Kep, a charming coastal city, is conveniently located near the Vietnam-Cambodia border. From Vietnam, visitors can easily cross the Xa Xia border gate in Hà Tiên, Kiên Giang, and travel approximately 20 kilometers to reach Kep. The journey typically takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Since the route to Kep is sparsely populated and includes several one-way streets within the city, having an experienced driver who knows the way is highly advisable to avoid unnecessary detours or delays.

Traveling from Koh Rong to Kep involves covering a distance of approximately 200 kilometers via a combination of ferry and road travel. From Sihanoukville, continue your journey to Kep by road. The distance between these two towns is around 120 kilometers, and you can travel by private taxi for faster and more comfortable transportation or opt for a shared van or bus for a budget-friendly alternative. The road trip typically takes 3 to 4 hours and costs between $8 and $50. Booking tickets in advance and planning for possible delays due to weather or road conditions can ensure a hassle-free trip.
The journey from Siem Reap to Kep spans approximately 540 kilometers and can be completed in several ways. The most economical option is taking a direct bus or minivan, which takes about 10 to 12 hours and costs between $15 and $25. For a faster and more convenient alternative, you can fly from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh (a distance of 320 kilometers, 1-hour flight, $50–$120) and then continue by road from Phnom Penh to Kep, which is about 130 kilometers and takes 3 to 4 hours by taxi, bus, or van, costing $8 to $50. For those prioritizing comfort, a private taxi from Siem Reap to Kep is a flexible option, covering the entire distance in about 8 to 10 hours and costing $100 to $200. Each route offers different levels of speed, comfort, and cost, allowing you to tailor your travel plans to your preferences.

Travellers can start your visit to Kep with a peaceful walk along the beach promenade. In Kampot, there will be no sea but it will be an ideal place for mountain climbing, picnicking and sightseeing because there are many hills here, easy to move and have forest-like scenery to admire combined with spiritual and architectural places to learn about Cambodian culture.
Currently, the coastal city of Kep is not yet a popular tourist destination, so the facilities here are limited. However, this simplicity is a great advantage, making Kep increasingly attractive to visitors looking for an authentic and peaceful experience.
