A Joyful Celebration of Hanoi’s 5 Millionth International Visitor in 2026
There’s a particular kind of magic in a first arrival — that moment when a traveler steps off the plane, still shaking off the fatigue of a long-haul flight, and is met not by silence but by a wave of warmth they weren’t expecting. On July 7, 2026, that moment belonged to Ms. Maria Del Mar.
She had no idea, as she walked through Noi Bai International Airport, that she was about to become part of Hanoi’s history — the city’s 5 millionth international visitor of the year.
And for us at Asia Viva Travel, it was a moment we’ll never forget either. Maria wasn’t just any traveler — she was one of our own guests, the group leader of 19 Spanish travelers who had entrusted us with their 16-day journey through Vietnam, a trip we had spent months designing, piece by piece, with her group in mind.

Maria Del Mar – our precious guest arrives at Noi Bai International Airport, the start of an unforgettable journey

If you’ve ever landed in Hanoi, you already know what makes this city special. It isn’t just the ancient streets or the smell of pho drifting from a corner stall at 7am. It’s the people — warm, curious, generous with their smiles even to complete strangers.
The welcoming ceremony at Noi Bai captured all of that in a single afternoon. As the gateway to Northern Vietnam, Hanoi has spent years rebuilding and reimagining its place on the world stage, and hitting 5 million international visitors in a single year is proof that the work is paying off. This isn’t just a number on a tourism board’s spreadsheet — it’s a signal that the world is once again choosing Vietnam, and choosing Hanoi as the place where their story begins.
Because for so many travelers, Hanoi isn’t a stopover. It’s the opening chapter.

Picture this: you’ve just flown from Madrid, half the world away, jet-lagged and a little disoriented — and suddenly you’re greeted with flowers, cameras, and applause. That was the scene for Maria and her group of 19 fellow Spanish travelers, all guests of Asia Viva Travel.
None of them expected it. Which, honestly, made it perfect.
It’s the kind of moment that reframes an entire trip before it’s even begun. Instead of a quiet taxi ride into the city, their first hour in Vietnam became a memory they’ll be telling friends and family about for years — long after the itinerary itself has faded into snapshots and souvenirs.

A joyful welcome filled with applause, smiles and unforgettable first moments in Hanoi.

At Asia Viva Travel, we don’t build itineraries — we build experiences that feel personal. Every journey starts with a conversation: What do you love? How do you like to travel? What does “unforgettable” mean to you?
For this Spanish group, that conversation turned into a carefully balanced 16-day route blending culture, nature, heritage, and the everyday rhythms of local life. No two travelers experience Vietnam the same way, and that’s exactly the point.
Being trusted to deliver the trip that happened to coincide with this incredible milestone reminded us, once again, why we love this work. These 19 travelers weren’t passersby — they were our guests, and their journey was ours to shape from start to finish. It’s not about moving people from Point A to Point B. It’s about crafting the kind of feeling — and the kind of journey — that people carry with them long after they’ve gone home.

A smile like this is the reason we love this job
Maria and her group are tracing one of the most complete and rewarding paths through the country:
Hanoi → Sa Pa → Ninh Binh → Ha Long Bay → Hue → Da Nang → Hoi An → Ho Chi Minh City → Ben Tre
Along the way, they’ll move through:
It’s Vietnam in full — its history, its landscapes, its contradictions, and its heart — all stitched into a single, unforgettable 16 days.

All smiles, the group sets off to explore Vietnam after the warmest of welcomes
Every traveler who lands in Vietnam is starting a story of their own — and no two stories should look the same.
Whether you’re drawn to quiet mountain villages, buzzing city streets, centuries-old heritage sites, or simply the food (always the food), Asia Viva Travel is here to help you shape a journey that feels entirely yours. From the very first idea to the final sunset, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
Let’s design your Vietnam — personal, meaningful, and made to remember.
