The American leading economic magazine, Forbes, has recently listed My Khe Beach in Da Nang City as one of the six most attractive beaches in the world, making it an even more appealing destination for international tourists.

1. Where is My Khe Beach?

My Khe Beach is located along the eastern coastline of Da Nang, the third-largest city in Vietnam. It stretches for about 35 kilometers from the Son Tra Peninsula in the north to Hoi An in the south. The beach is easily accessible from Da Nang’s city center, just about 6 kilometers away, and is only a 10-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport. Due to its convenient location and natural beauty, My Khe Beach has become a favorite destination for not only locals but also international tourists around the world.

How to Get There:

  • By Plane: Da Nang International Airport offers numerous domestic and international flights.so tourists can easily get to the place. From the airport, travelers can take a taxi or a shuttle to the beach (about 7km)
  • By Train: Da Nang is well-connected by train, with routes to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City so tourists can use it to transfer. The train station is about 15 minutes from My Khe Beach.

2. Is It Worth Visiting My Khe Beach?

Absolutely! My Khe Beach consistently ranks among the best beaches in Vietnam and is often listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia. In the list of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Asia 2024 voted by Tripadvisor reviewers, My Khe of Da Nang ranked 6thand in 2023, My Khe is the only representative of Vietnam to appear in this top with 8th place.

  • Crystal-clear waters: The waters of My Khe Beach are calm, clean, and have a soothing blue-green hue. This makes it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying various water activities.
  • Soft white sand: The beach is known for its powdery, white sand, which feels soft underfoot and is ideal for long walks along the shore.
  • Mild climate: With warm temperatures throughout the year, My Khe Beach provides an inviting atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy the scenery.
  • Water sports haven: The beach is well-equipped with facilities for water sports like surfing, jet-skiing, and parasailing.
  • Local charm: Despite its popularity, My Khe Beach has maintained a laid-back and peaceful vibe. You can enjoy stunning sunsets and even catch local fishermen going about their daily routines.

In addition to its natural beauty, My Khe Beach is close to several cultural and historical landmarks, including the Marble Mountains, the Dragon Bridge, and the ancient town of Hoi An, making it a well-rounded destination for travelers.

3. The Best Time to Visit My Khe Beach

The best time to visit My Khe Beach is between February and August. During this period, the weather is warm, with temperatures ranging between 25°C and 30°C, and the seas are calm, making it ideal for beach activities.

  • Dry Season (February – August): This is the most popular time to visit, as the days are sunny, with minimal rainfall. March to May is especially perfect for sunbathing and enjoying water sports.
  • Rainy Season (September – January): Although it’s still possible to visit during this time, expect heavier rainfall and cooler temperatures. The seas may also be rough, affecting swimming and water sports activities. However, this is the off-peak season, so it’s less crowded, and you can enjoy more affordable accommodation rates.

If you’re visiting in June, be mindful of the local summer holidays, as the beach can become quite busy with Vietnamese families.
