Thanks to a recent inspection trip to Northern Vietnam carried out by Asia Viva Travel from September 16th to 20th, 2023, we’ve carefully reviewed each service to confidently recommend the best homestays in Sapa to our travelers.

Sapa isn’t just magical in winter, when mountain peaks are dusted with white snow—it also shines brightly in the summer, with golden sunlight bringing out the charm of its landscapes.

1. Plum Eco House

Tel: 0966 507 111

Plum Eco House is located in the peaceful Ta Van Giay village — an ideal retreat for those seeking a quiet getaway away from the crowds, while also wishing to immerse themselves in the rich ethnic culture of Sapa.

This charming homestay is a haven of positive energy, surrounded by breathtaking views of valleys and terraced rice fields. The rooms are cozy and thoughtfully decorated, with great attention to cleanliness—from the bathrooms to the fresh linens and warm blankets.

Breakfast is delicious and generous, served à la carte, and the dinner menu is reasonably priced.

The owner, a member of the local Hmong community, deeply understands the traditions and lifestyle of the region. She’s incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional—and speaks English very well, which makes communication smooth and enjoyable.

The homestay features two separate areas with beautifully designed rooms:

  • Main House (Private Rooms) – all rooms can accommodate an extra bed if needed:

    • 3 double rooms: max 2 guests each
    • 1 twin room: max 3 guests (1 double bed + 1 single bed)
    • 1 family room: max 5–6 guests (2 double beds + 2 single beds)
  • Bungalow Area – 2 bungalows, each suitable for up to 6 guests. One of them includes two floors, offering more space and privacy.

2. Mr Tang Homestay

Mr. Tang Homestay is nestled in the serene village of Ta Van Giay — a beloved stop for travelers, thanks to its peaceful setting and stunning natural surroundings.

Staying here offers an authentic and unforgettable glimpse into local life. The homestay is a traditional two-story home:

  • The first floor is the family’s living space, including their bedroom and kitchen.
  • The second floor is a shared dormitory with 11 beds and 2 bathrooms.

While the rooms are simple and no-frills, they provide everything you need for a comfortable night’s rest. The shared bathrooms are impressively clean and well-kept.

The hosts are warm, helpful, and always ready to make you feel at home. One of the highlights here is the food—homemade meals prepared by the host and her husband are not only delicious but also filled with heart.

3. De Amor House & Coffee

Tel: 0968 456 984

De Amor House & Coffee is a newly opened homestay (2023) in Ta Van village, offering convenient access to both local life and Sapa town. With a clean, modern design and a charming little garden overlooking rice fields, it has quickly become a favorite among European travelers. The rooms are simple yet cozy, with warm wooden tones that create a familiar, welcoming feel. There are 4 private rooms and a shared dorm: a bright single room with garden view, upstairs rooms with balconies, a compact room with 3 double beds (ideal for Asian guests), and a spacious triple room with a bathtub and AC.

One small note: the staircase to the second floor can be a bit steep. The host is friendly and always happy to help.

4. Hmong House

Hmong House is tucked away on a quiet hilltop in Ta Van Giay village. Though the climb to reach it is a bit steep, the reward is a stunning panorama of majestic mountains embracing the peaceful valley below. This charming homestay still retains the untouched beauty of Vietnam’s northwestern highlands—think thatched-roof houses, blooming rhododendrons, whispering bamboo, and the dreamy “cloud bridges” that stretch over the poetic Muong Hoa River. On clear days, guests can sip tea on the balcony while watching the Hoang Lien Son range bathed in golden sunrise or floating in delicate morning mist. During harvest season, the terraced rice fields shimmer in shades of green and gold—a breathtaking sight.

With 16 rooms and bungalows built using traditional bamboo and wood, Hmong House blends minimalist design with local charm. The first floor includes 9 rooms and 4 wooden bungalows offering sweeping views of the rice paddies. Most rooms are doubles, ideal for couples or solo travelers seeking a peaceful retreat. Both Vietnamese and Western-style breakfasts are served, and the staff are friendly and attentive.

Perfect for trekking lovers, Hmong House offers both authenticity and comfort—a wonderful base for those looking to explore Sapa’s soul while enjoying a restful stay.

5. H’nee House

Tel: 0966 836 986

H’nee House is a sustainable chalet tucked away in the peaceful Ta Van Giay village, about 12 km—or a scenic 30-minute drive—from Sapa’s town center. Blending traditional ethnic architecture from northern Vietnam with elements typical of the Red River Delta, this stay feels both rooted and refreshingly unique.

Unlike many other homestays in Sapa, H’nee House does not offer shared dorms. Instead, guests can choose between two types of accommodation: a cozy house with two double bedrooms, perfect for a family of four, or two private bungalows for couples seeking intimacy and comfort. Each bungalow features a wide window that opens to breathtaking views of Sapa’s lush, mountainous landscapes. The interiors are clean and warmly decorated, with spacious bathrooms that add an extra touch of comfort.

The family-style house is especially spacious, complete with two double beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and even a washing machine—ideal for longer stays or travelers who enjoy a home-away-from-home feel.

The only drawback? Meals aren’t provided—so breakfast and other dining plans will need to be arranged separately. Still, for those seeking quietude, privacy, and a well-designed stay amid nature, H’nee House is a hidden gem worth discovering.

This charming homestay stands out for its sense of space, artistic flair, and warm atmosphere. Thoughtfully decorated with tasteful details and surrounded by panoramic views of the valley and terraced rice fields, it offers a visual and emotional retreat for the soul.

TALACÀ features five rooms in total:
– Two double rooms overlooking the garden (shared bathroom on the ground floor)
