Vietnamese cuisine is well-known as a feast for the senses with deeply traditional yet adaptable flavors. From bustling street food stalls to refined fine-dining tables, its flavors captivate both locals and travelers alike. The arrival of the MICHELIN Guide Vietnam 2025 proves that these beloved dishes can stand proudly on the world stage. In this blog, we present the List of Michelin Star Restaurants in Vietnam by region, from Michelin Selected Hanoi eateries to Michelin Star Restaurants Ho Chi Minh, showing how Michelin Star Vietnam elevates its cuisine with elegance and authenticity.
For food lovers worldwide, the Michelin Star is more than a title – it is a hallmark of excellence, a global seal of trust that guarantees an unforgettable dining experience. Recognized by the prestigious MICHELIN Guide, it reflects a restaurant’s relentless dedication to perfecting its cuisine, service, and ambiance.
Restaurants are judged on five criteria: ingredient quality, cooking techniques, chef’s personality, value for money, and consistency. Not every city has Michelin-rated venues. Vietnam joined the MICHELIN Guide only in 2023, with 4 Michelin Star restaurants (3 in Hanoi, 1 in Ho Chi Minh City) plus dozens of Michelin Selected and Bib Gourmand listings. This milestone marked Vietnam’s place on the world’s fine-dining map.
The Bib Gourmand Vietnam category, introduced in the MICHELIN Guide Vietnam 2025, celebrates outstanding food at reasonable prices. It’s ideal for travelers seeking affordable Michelin restaurants in Vietnam or mid-range Michelin dining. Bib Gourmand Hanoi offers authentic local dishes like fragrant pho and crispy bánh xèo, while Bib Gourmand Ho Chi Minh features street food icons and casual bistros serving bold southern flavors.
Additionally, the Michelin Green Star recognizes restaurants meeting Michelin standards while also championing sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
Vietnam now proudly hosts 181 Michelin-listed establishments, spanning across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. The MICHELIN Guide Vietnam 2025 recognizes:
Most of these are Michelin’s Selected Restaurants – carefully chosen for rising above the culinary average. These restaurants elevate familiar Vietnamese dishes like Pho, Banh mi, Banh xeo ( crispy Vietnamese pancake) and goi cuon ( spring roll) ,…transforming them into fine-dining experiences. Through meticulous presentation and harmonious flavor combinations, they showcase tradition with artistic flair.

For Biggourmand Restaurants in Vietnam, these restaurants are mostly small family-run restaurants, so the space may be small and not suitable for reservations. Moreover, diners will eat and leave quickly, so visitors do not have to wait too long. However, for Michelin-starred restaurants, which are more upscale, visitors should book a table in advance for a better experience and service.
Regarding payment, foreign tourists should exchange cash and use Vietnamese currency for easy payment. Only some large, high-end restaurants have card swiping machines to use Visa payments.
Last but not least, visitors should feel comfortable and ask about the ingredients in the dish or if you want to change anything such as no spicy, no scallions,…especially for visitors with allergic symptoms because in Vietnam there are many dishes made from milk, peanuts, gluten, etc. This way, the restaurant will easily make appropriate changes to avoid changing the flavor of the dish, and visitors will also have a better experience.
